Ancient Mummies are a most valuable source to study evolution of health and disease. The aim of the Swiss Mummy Project at the University of Zurich is to use state-of-the-art biomedical technologies – particularly diagnostic imaging methods – to investigate such precious human remains. The highlights of 30 years of research as well as ethical dilemmas will be presented.
