Research at the IPNA

Archaeologists are convinced of the value of all human remains in the archives of our soil. These legacies are part of the cultural heritage of mankind. It is important to preserve this heritage and pass it on for future generations. In view of the constant destruction of these sources, particularly as a result of construction activities, saving them is a duty and researching them is essential for understanding past eras. This rescue and research is carried out in collaboration with cantonal archaeological offices through the precisely documented excavation of a feature and the preservation of archaeological finds, as well as through academic analysis and publication.

The great strength of the IPNA passes in the fact that different research disciplines are located in one central place and can pursue archaeological questions in close collaboration.
