st/ Université de Strasbourg) et al. «Recent results from the Middle Pal
eolithic site of Mutzig Rain\, France»
DESCRIPTION:Héloïse Koehler (Service régional de l'archéologie DRAC Gra
nd Est/Université de Strasbourg)\,  Fabio Wegmüller (Universität Basel
 )\, Noémie Sévêque (GéoArchéon/Université de Strasbourg)\,  Simon D
iemer (Université de Strasbourg)\, Matthias Lutz (Universität Basel)\\r\
\nRecent results from the Middle Paleolithic site of Mutzig Rain\, France\
\r\\nThe Paleolithic site of Mutzig in Alsace\, France\, offers rare and w
ell-preserved evidence of Middle Paleolithic human occupation\, including
multiple stratified layers with numerous faunal remains and lithic artifac
ts. Analyses suggest that Neandertals lived in a cold\, steppe-like enviro
nment around 90\,000 years ago\, with some layers showing signs of fire us
e and climate variation. Since 2009\, the site has been investigated as pa
rt of a collaborative research project involving various universities and
 institutions.
